what exactly are those talents, by the way? i think i've been a pretty good sport about the whole- running around with knives thing, but i mean, i'm only human. curiosity has to win out sometime.
You can't use logic and be a hypocrite all in the same breath, Lydia. I'm fifty-percent sure that's a rule somewhere in one of your books. [ she doesn't enjoy the ugly thought that anyone should have to die and she wonders how she got from point A (sobbing over a dog she clipped in the road) to point B (slashing into Isaac with knives, ready to kill Derek and Scott) so fast. Peter dredges up already gray morality, and she's happier to to stay out of it. ] I don't think he's the cuddling type, unless that's a pack thing. ...Wait, you and Stiles? With you instigating. :)!
I'm not going on a suicide mission, so keep breathing easy. I'm coming back. [ it's a selfish comfort, knowing somebody still cares if she lives or dies. ] Explosives aside, I'd feel better knowing you had something you could use from any range.
We're all distracted. Doesn't mean we can't indulge in variety. [ and she feels like she owes Isaac something. ]
because one is a spacefaring captain of a ship and is the de-facto captain of the ship, while the others are the smarter superhero versions of paris hilton and kim kardashian. come on, it's not that hard.
[ she ignores that text because either way, they're heroes and it's begging. but hey, maybe there's a favor she could offer in return. it's something to sleep on. all of it in favor of meeting him at the lifts in a timely manner because she wants to get back to gardens, and Lydia. and offense to Stiles (she's sure he'll be the best blanket in the mean time) but it doesn't sit right distancing herself when she can help.
even when this ishelping in a slightly more productive way.
assuming Isaac isn't isolating her from the crowds to kill her. not that she thinks being a werewolf makes him a bad person (hello, the example of Scott? he's great) but he wouldn't be unwarranted so it's a worry that sticks to her. ] Ready or not, here we come.
[ not the best greeting, but it works better than please let me make it up to you. ]
You already know I don't carry the knives for a fashion statement.
[ and while she can't incriminate her entire family, she has to figure a way to say it. ]
Or a bow, or my crossbow. [ when they're functioning. ] In ten words or less? My talents apply to taking down the bad guys. I provide good back-up. [ she's hoping that's all this is. ]
[ Allison's heartbeat is a steady quick beat when she comes within range of Isaac's hearing. Perks of being a werewolf, that.
He waves at her with a flick of his hand. ]
Dude, calm down. I'm not gonna bite. [ In hindsight it's a poor choice of words, but what can one do? He punches at the lift interface panels, anyway. ] Or claw, for that matter.
You sure you're okay leaving Lydia with the nerd herd?
No, I hunt creatures that kill. [ sorry to say, Gerard and Kate, but she doesn't feel that those are synonyms right now. ] I never said werewolves. [ she's balancing on a tight rope trying not to blur that line again. ]
[ she restrains herself and doesn't roll her eyes. there are a number of things she's worried about. firstly, the engine and the electricity and anything and everything that ties into that. what does it mean for them, and can the crew fix it? everything else comes and goes. his reassurance isn't as comforting as it would be coming from Scott but beggars can't be choosers now, can they? ]
If there's one person I trust with Lydia that cares about her safety and well-being as much as I do, it's Stiles. [ half in love with Lydia Martin is what he's been since the second she met him. she doesn't expect that to change but if it does (or has) he still has the most wisdom. the best judgment. and he cares about her. concern doesn't stop after infatuation leaves. ] It's the rest of the crew they're down there with that I'm less positive about. Some of them react under pressure like we do and the others are totally unpredictable.
[ she will pinpoint who you have been chatting with, Hayley! B( ]
I've only known three humans that needed to be stopped and I wasn't the one to do it. [ funny that, how two out of three were related to her. and she can't even say if one of them is dead or not. ] I've also never taken a life, so I don't know what I'd do if I had to choose.
[ there's a lag before her next reply comes, because in truth- Hayley's had a pretty decent idea of what to expect, but the important thing, the thing that mattered, was gauging reply. ]
[ For his part, Isaac couldn't care any less than he already does for the rest of the ship; call it a bit cold, but getting burned by experience makes one picky about the people one cares about. It's just easier this way, right?
Okay, so maybe this isn't too accurate, but the thought sticks. ]
Yeah, I don't trust most of them, either. Some are cool, but I'm not putting my life in their hands any time soon. At least we have Derek for now, right?
[ The doors slide open, and Isaac waves towards it. ] Ladies first.
In this case, I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to, Allison. And there isn't. Probably. I'd know, I occasionally have to brush up on them. [ revenge and manipulation, the easiest ways to go from point A to point B for Allison. it makes Lydia annoyed to think of how Allison has to think about killing people herself, because Allison is supposed to be different. she's supposed to be happy. it's— it's something she doesn't like to dwell on. ] It's a pack thing. And yes, me and Stiles. With me kind of instigating. I could have said no. Put that smile away. :|!
Promise me. [ which sounds so lame when Lydia's typing it, but she can't help it. ] If and when the power comes back and after the next jump. Okay.
Good point. Plus distracting! We'll have to sneak past her brothers, but were girls. It should be easy.
[ brutally honest, Allison, and you should know better than anyone that you have to give trust to get trust and even then-- god, she's so stupid. confiding in Hayley hadn't been the best idea (her father wouldn't approve) but at least now she knows it wouldn't have mattered. she knew already. maybe she should go screaming down the hall that certain people are werewolves. ] Why would I lie to you?
[ she knows why people lie. it's just- maybe she hadn't been one-hundred percent honest but that's not something you say right off the bat, meeting someone. but she hadn't lied either. hadn't given that kind of impression. ]
